Featured Artist: Turning Wheel Pottery

As the Earth tilts on its axis and serves up another cold season, we suggest the perfect antidote--a warm cup of mulled cider, hot cocoa, or steaming java sipped from a work of art-- courtesy of Turning Wheel Pottery.

Bruce and Kelley Hoefer--owners and artists of Turning Wheel Pottery--began their journey together at Berea College in 1992 where they met as students. Their path took them to Oregon where in 2001 they turned their combined focus to pottery. After taking a ceramics class together, they purchased potters wheels and a used kiln and promptly converted a greenhouse into their first studio, where they rode a wave of creativity right back to Berea, settling here again in 2009.

Since their return to where it all began, Bruce and Kelley have experienced extraordinary success, both critically and commercially. And we are delighted to have them back! We gladly welcome them at The Promenade Gallery, where we are proud to offer their eye-pleasing, functional pottery to the area. Please stop by and feel free to slip your hand around a generous mug, ohhhh and ahhhh over their covered vessels, and imagine your holiday fare brought to the table in one of their funky or flowered serving dishes.
Happy Holidays to all of our wonderful customers from the staff at The Promenade Gallery!

Featured Artist: Ann B Clay

As the creative force behind Ann B Clay, Ann Baker incorporates her upbringing in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains into her expressive sculpture and garden art. Her work often reflects painted or carved embellishments drawn from nature: leaves, vines, petals and trees. Ann's stunning "Goddess Series" has emerged as art forms to be used in gardens--indoors or out--as a blending of art with nature.

Ann Baker is an award-winning artist who has exhibited widely in sculpture and garden exhibits, and states that her work is influenced by "a desire to illustrate elegance and emotion." At The Promenade Gallery, we believe this desire has been fully realized. The evocative art of Ann B Clay greets our visitors just inside the door of our gallery, where it never fails to inspire joy and awe.

We invite you to drop in and see for yourself. Our gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sundays, 1 to 6 p.m.
